You will get a chance to explore Iceland and see the beauty of its nature: the vast glaciers, the spectacular waterfalls, the hot springs, the threatening volcanos including the Eyjafjallajokull volcano, the lava fields and the fertile regions.

You will pick up the rented car at the airport and drive to Reykjavik to the hotel room that was ordered for you. If your arrival time allows it, it is recommended to stop on your way at the Blue Lagoon, which is a famous spa site, well-known in the world. There you can swim in the warm geothermal water and relax after the flight.

You will leave the hotel in the morning and drive to the Thingvellir National Park. The park is a very unique place and a UNESCO world heritage site. There you can see the cracks and fissures in the earth’s crust caused by the tectonic movements of the continental plates – the geological wonder of the world. You will continue then to the Geysir area, where are located many geysers, one of them Strokkur ejecting water column high in the air every 5-10 minutes. You will visit the waterfall Gullfoss, located only a short drive away from Geysir. This is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Iceland. Today you will visit the Skaftafell National Park – one of the most popular and exciting places of Iceland. The park is surrounded by the glaciers and has many hiking tracks that lead to the viewpoints exposing the stunning landscapes of the area. The Skaftafell Park is located at the spectacular Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon, where the enormous icebergs are floating and you can take a boat trip in the lagoon to watch them closely. Skógar/Vik area for the night.

This day will be dedicated to the many attractions of the South Coast. You will visit the waterfalls you passed by on your way east: The Skógarfoss Waterfall with the walking trail behind the waterfall and the Seljalandsfoss Waterfall. You will visit the Skógar Folk Museum – an excellent opportunity to learn how the Icelanders lived in the past. You will go to the Dyrhólaey Cliff, where you can usually see the puffins. The famous black send beaches of the South Coast are located near the Vik and Reynishverfi village, where you can take a walk on them. You will drive back to Reykjavik for the night.

You will drive to Keflavik Airport to return the rented car and take a flight back home. If you have time before the flight, it is recommended to take a walk in Reykjavik, the pleasant and lively capital of Iceland.
