A Hidden Gem in West Iceland
The geothermal pools in the holiday village of Húsafell are one of the best spots in West Iceland to soak in naturally heated waters.
Location & Experience
The landowners, who also run the nearby Húsafell Hotel, have worked hard to integrate the baths into the surrounding nature with minimal environmental impact. The site features three pools with varying temperatures between 30–41°C, all offering stunning views of the canyon, mountains, and glacier.
Experience It Like the Icelanders
Built from locally sourced natural materials, the baths blend seamlessly into the landscape. The site is on private land, and visits are only possible with a local guide. The guided tour includes transportation, entry to the baths, and an introduction to Iceland’s renewable energy production. Along the way, you’ll also see the remains of Okjökull Glacier, the first Icelandic glacier lost to climate change.
Tours are suitable for everyone, with a maximum of 20 participants per departure.
