Dettifoss, Snæfellsnes, Jökulsárgljúfur and glacier lagoons — 11 days discovering Iceland's most dramatic and colorful landscapes.
Discover Iceland’s most breathtaking landscapes in this 11-day self-drive adventure.
Explore iconic sites like Jökulsárgljúfur Nature Reserve, Dettifoss—the most powerful waterfall in Europe, and the dramatic Ásbyrgi Valley. Journey through the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, Lake Mývatn, Skaftafell National Park, Glacier Lagoon, and more.
Pick up your rental car at Keflavik Airport and drive to Reykjavik. Stroll through the city center, visit the iconic Hallgrímskirkja church, and soak up the vibrant atmosphere of one of the world's cleanest and most charming capitals.
Explore Iceland's most celebrated route. Walk the rift valley of Þingvellir National Park where two tectonic plates meet, watch Strokkur erupt every few minutes, and stand in awe before the thundering Gullfoss Waterfall.
Drive Iceland's stunning southern coastline. Walk behind Seljalandsfoss, photograph the towering Skógafoss, and explore the dramatic arch of Dyrhólaey overlooking black sand beaches. End the day at the otherworldly Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon.
Hike through Vatnajökull National Park to the basalt-framed Svartifoss waterfall. Then witness the surreal Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, where ancient icebergs drift silently before washing up as diamonds on the black beach.
Wind through the breathtaking East Fjords, dotted with remote fishing villages and the chance to spot wild reindeer. Visit Hallormstaður, Iceland's largest forest, and hike to Hengifoss — one of the tallest waterfalls in the country.
Stand before Dettifoss, Europe's most powerful waterfall — the sheer force is unforgettable. Continue to the horseshoe-shaped Ásbyrgi Canyon, a place of Norse legend. End the day in Húsavík, Iceland's whale watching capital.
Explore the surreal volcanic landscapes surrounding Lake Mývatn. Climb Hverfjall crater rim, walk through the twisted lava formations of Dimmuborgir, and visit the boiling mud pots of Hverir. A day that feels like another planet.
Begin with Goðafoss, the "Waterfall of the Gods" — a sweeping arc of glacial water steeped in Norse history. Continue to Akureyri, Iceland's charming northern capital, then head into the dramatic Tröllaskagi Peninsula with its towering peaks and fjord views.
Drive through the serene Vatnsnes Peninsula, known for its seal colonies resting on rocky shores and striking basalt formations. Journey to Stykkishólmur, a picture-perfect harbour town on the edge of Snæfellsnes with panoramic views over Breiðafjörður's thousand islands.
Tour the magical Snæfellsnes Peninsula, dominated by the glacier-capped Snæfellsjökull volcano — the setting of Jules Verne's Journey to the Center of the Earth. Explore dramatic lava fields, bird-covered cliffs at Arnarstapi, and charming coastal villages before returning to Reykjavik.
Your final morning in Iceland. Explore Reykjavik one last time or head straight to the iconic Blue Lagoon for a relaxing geothermal soak before returning your car at Keflavik Airport and flying home with memories to last a lifetime.
